Blogging strictly for SEO purposes

We focus a lot (most) of our energy on SEO. We do so because we know it works and I love being able to “prove” that it works. We do push blogging as we see its benefits but as far as using it strictly for SEO? This seems to be a little short-sighted but a good point nonetheless.

I was perusing the Compendium Blogware (BTW not a bad solution for enterprise blogging) website and over and over again the message of “seo benefits” takes center stage. I see their point and they’re really supporting this marketing message, which is fine, but I feel it’s important to emphasize to our clients that this is not the only reason to choose to blog. I do, however, think that this is a good reminder for many bloggers.

Blogging can be very time consuming and blogs are abandoned on a regular basis. Maybe the time they thought they had for it, just wasn’t there. Maybe they became discouraged after a couple of months because no-one was commenting. Maybe they just got bored with it. So, by reminding some of these folks about the SEO benefits, we’re adding another reason why they might want to stick to it. Blog on folks! Not just to reach out to your audience. Not just to educate and inform. Not just to make this world a better place. But add some SEO juice to the fray as well.

Honestly, as a great dental internet website marketing device, you just can’t beat blogging. It is cheap (or even free), it attracts clients (if you post quality content), and it is a way to allow interaction (through comment posting). Yes, it takes some time to make regular posts, but the benefits are substantial.

  2. Just found your blog today. Really like it – keep up the good work.Domain info more important than you think :-)Domain information such as DNS, age of domain and even the expiration date are used to distinguish between illegitimate and legitimate domains. Why are google doing this? Simply to get all the factors they can to get an internal “trust score”.This “trust score” is used to eliminate “doorway” pages and spam in the search result.I’M not saying that it’s working perfectly – but they are doing a pretty good job.
