Search is still tops on our list and should be for most businesses but there is an increasing push towards social media and for some, this may be appropriate. We’ve seen some effective uses of Facebook fan pages but after perusing Mashable, saw a post that offers a pretty thorough resource.

For many companies a Facebook fan page is an integral part of their social media campaign. But, what elements help fan pages build up large followings and what can brands do to emulate the success of others?

With the latest Facebook redesign, it seems that fan pages have become more like profile pages and being able to communicate with/to clients is an extension of your own customer service. Like customer service though, it can be time consuming and you do have to dedicate some time to it – unlike our own fan page:( – but it might be something that your company should consider so check out the tips.
