LinkedIn growth starts the hype machine
LinkedIn is the sixth-biggest social network on the Internet and according to Neilsen, topping MySpace and FaceBook in October for greatest expansion (one assumes that is accounts created) so there’s no denying that it is a hot space right now.
I use it and like it.
Naturally with all this popularity comes hype and rumors have been circulating that NewsCorp (who are notorious for grabbing new technologies before they peak) have an interest in LinkedIn. Both parties deny the rumors but I’m not convinced. NewsCorp has even gone as far as announcing that they will be adding business networking features to MySpace so they obviously acknowledge its usefulness. If Murdoch purchased MySpace for 580mill a couple of years ago, are we talking about $1billion?
