Oh GOOGLE!!!
Google share price above $500 and at least one analyst still says it is undervalued.
Consider this:
In the 4th quarter of 2006 Google processed $900 Million in transactions – not bad.
Revenue growth over the 3rd quarter – 20% – not bad.
Stock up 10% in 2006 – not bad.
Earned $1.03 Billion in Q4 – nearly triple from a year earlier – not bad.
A 67% jump in revenue to $3.2 Billion in Q4 – not bad
Now what do they do with all that dough – well R&D is up but I found the real story:
As reported by many the food at Google headquarters is good – how good you might ask and why – if not let me ask it anyway.
Google spends about $100,000 per day to offer food to its employees from any one of 11 different Cafes on campus. One serves sushi, another – food from a different region of the United States another serves a rotating menu from each of the 7 continents. If you want to read the whole story
The part of the story I really liked – originally the company founders had hired the Chef from the Grateful Dead but he made so much money on the stock options he cashed out when they went public.
Why you might ask – Google figures they spend about $10 per person per day but they more than make up that money with the time saved from all those employees going out somewhere to eat. In addition to the 11 cafes there are 44 “filling” stations to put on what has been described as the Google 15 – the 15 pounds you gain when you start working there.
You go Google – you may argue with some of what they may be doing but overall show me a company coming close. Yes it will be harder to continue as they get larger but so far they seem have figured it out.
So get inline – have Google buy you out so you have a really good excuse to workout – the Google 15 – I love it!
