Skype
Do you skype – if not you should give it a try. For those just getting to this technology – www.skype.com
It allows you to use Internet calling, IM and file swapping. Not long ago it was bought for a hefty sum by eBay. Today comes this little bit of news -
EBay is hoping its new partnership with Google will help it find new ways to make money from Skype, its Internet calling service. Tests by several companies indicate there is a group of advertisers, including mortgage brokers, who are willing to pay $8 to $15 for each call from a Web searcher, roughly 10 times more than they will pay for a Web site click.
So if you can position your site where people are looking and can call you right away – would that be a hot lead and would you pay more for it. Also if you were the prospect and you could take immediate action and not need to wait for a return email – would you be more apt to take that action?
The number of options available for marketing over the Internet continues to grow in scope and creativity. If someone could tell you what things will be like even 2 years from now, it will likely be a technology not being used or possibly developed yet.
Someone once said that Internet advertising is like the wild wild west and in many ways it remains that way. Fortunately there are things that keep us grounded – at least for now, like SEO and PPC. The amazing thing is that when the rest of the economy wakes up to the vast potential on the web it will have already passed to the next idea.
If you can’t get the idea of how blogging, video and SEO how are you ever gonna keep up with anything new.
It is never too late to get started but my thought is – GET STARTED – NOW!!!
