After reading Rebecca Kelly’s post: <a title="SMX East: Twitter Marketing Tactics" href="http://www.10e20.com/blog/2009/10/07/smx-east-twitter-marketing-tactics/" target="_blank">SMX East: Twitter Marketing Tactics</a>, I thought that I’d distill some of the advice into some simple dos and don’ts:</p>
<p><strong>Do</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Focus Long-Term</li>
<li>Converse</li>
<li>Have a Goal</li>
<li>Think About Others</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Don’t</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Spam</li>
<li>Be Overly Self-Promotional</li>
<li>Be Mechanical</li>
<li>Auto DM, anyone…</li>
</ul>
<p>Sure, these are super basic but if you follow this advice I think that businesses will find that Twitter can be a useful marketing tool</p>
