It gets eyeballs, gains interest, subscribers, potentially gets customers. Suggesting that your SEO is no longer going to work gets businesses scared and that fear drives sales. - [How is Your Ai Visibility Looking?](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/how-is-your-ai-visibility-looking/): There's a lot of noise surrounding AI. ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and others are now commonplace. If grandma knows about it then surely it's time to take notice. I wrote about our own AI SEO shift around this time last year and it's only increased its influence since then. - [Our own Ai Shift](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/our-own-ai-shift/): As a digital marketing company, it's important to keep an eye on the latest trends and how they impact what we do. It also makes things a little more interesting as well. While the marketing side of things is a different beast, on the more technical side we've got a few things on our radar at the moment: - [In Between the World of SEO and Generative AI](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/in-between-the-world-of-seo-and-generative-ai/): As we continue to delve more deeply into GenAI I'm drawn to a post we did some 10 years ago about the transition from traditional marketing to digital marketing. The plan of course was that companies should shift their budgets and practices from the old way to the new way because to us, we could see the writing on the wall. The thing is that am reminded thought, is that many of these traditional marketing techniques are actually still valid. Sure, the Yellow Pages might have gone by the wayside but we still see mailers hitting our letterboxes as well as catalogues, trade shows still happen. The takeaway was largely that perhaps our thinking (and a little of our budgets) needed to shift to better embrace this new way. This was mostly true but more accurately, consideration of course needed to be where your users are. - [AI’s Increasing Influence in SEO](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/ais-increasing-influence-in-seo/): As individuals, we have been working with SEO since before Google. Something fairly consistent that we've found throughout the years is that we've often heard that SEO is dying, especially when the next shiny new thing came along. Certainly, we've seen things like social networks have an impact, but overall it was far more complementary than anything. While users were spending more and more time on social apps, when it came down to it, if they were looking for something, they would still go to a search engine. - [WordPress v Squarespace v Wix v…](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/wordpress-v-squarespace-v-wix-v/): Since the early Internet days, there have been plenty of options for building a website which can be a tad overwhelming for newbies. If you didn't know HTML, there were even options back in the stone age. We remember Geocities back in 1994 as one of the original ways to create your website without requiring coding skills or developers. Microsoft Frontpage and Adobe Dreamweaver had a little more of a learning curve but certainly if you were more of a visual person, these tools were perfect. GoDaddy were fairly early adapters in this space as well, offering website building tools around 1997 but it was really the early 2000's that saw a bunch come to the forefront. - [Promises and Shiny New Things](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/promises-and-shiny-new-things/): We love to test and check new things out. That's actually a large part of what got us all into this field and keeps us in this ever-changing landscape. There's often something new or interesting to review and consider as part of our technical SEO service offerings. Web development certainly keeps evolving as new technologies and techniques come to the forefront and even within the world of Wordpress, there are times when we have to accommodate some pretty significant updates and adjustments. Most recently we've been having to embrace a massive update to Google Analytics with their GA4 shift which will be happening this July 1st. Preparing for all these changes is incredibly important to us though the services we offer continue to remain fairly narrow so why is this? If we're spending so much time testing and experimenting with a slew of Internet Marketing tools and techniques, why wouldn't we be continually expanding our services to embrace these new and exciting new things? - [Proactive WordPress Management](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/proactive-wordpress-management/): We're fans of Wordpress and have been for years. Seems there are plenty of other fans as well given that some 30% of all websites run it. That's a lot. Still, like all CMS's it's not without its issues and maintenance is one of them. Core updates, plugin update, outdated themes, security issues. Add to that your general website maintenance issues like broken links and files and it can be quite a challenge to keep everything up to date. - [A Few of My Daily SEO Tools](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/a-few-of-my-daily-seo-things/): Note: Originally posted in 2011 but updated for 2020! - [The Value of Website Management](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/the-value-of-website-management/): Having a website for your business is great. Actually it's pretty essential. All too often though, after spending a great deal of time building a site and obsessing over every little detail, the excitement of the launch and the flurry of new and exciting information wanes and things suddenly run dry. Happens to the best of us (including us at times!) - [Launching a New Website – 3 Steps to Prevent the SEO Drop](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/launching-a-new-website-3-steps-to-prevent-the-seo-drop/): With all the information available, it seems that some of it still gets lost in translation. When it comes to SEO we are well aware that there is plenty of incorrect information but while it's been around for some time, plus the fact that there continues to be more and more experts touting SEO knowledge, we keep seeing repeat offences. We've seen enough recent client activity that has raised this as a red flag, on every single occasion, these transitions were performed by web development companies who apparently promised to "SEO Optimize" their new website only to see traffic and rankings tank because they didn't know what they were doing. - [Continued Sustainable SEO](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/sustainable-seo/): Another year is upon us and looking back on this past year, we've once again been heads-down digging in to client requirements and our own internal tools and not practicing what we preach (though we did manage to squeak out an updated website). While SEO in general seems to be in a state of constant flux, we've continued to see great performance across the board, some clients faring better than others and while we've seen more consistent updates from Google throughout the year, our sustainable approach still works. When we've had full control over websites, we've seen much better results so we've been trying to figure out how to ensure that what we do can be scaled even when working with other development shops. This means that we need to ensure that at least the basics are taken care of, even when we can't control every aspect of the campaign. - [SEO Health Data: Google Analytics](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/seo-health-data-google-analytics/): A true digital performance issue that we come across often is overall poor digital health. Much like our own health, the annual checkup is pretty important, in some cases it's essential. So we take the same approach to digital health by monitoring it on a daily basis, reviewing it weekly and then reporting on it monthly. Things can change pretty quickly so keeping an eye on things tends to be a little more valuable. We have a fairly extensive toolset that helps us do that and we'll run through a few of them in the coming months. - [Transitioning from Traditional Marketing to Digital Marketing: A Case Study](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/transitioning-traditional-marketing-digital-marketing-case-study/): Embracing online marketing for companies who are used to doing it all offline can be daunting. You're looking around. Getting not insignificant quotes for upgrading your very dated website that you feel really hasn't brought you any business over the past few years anyway. When it was launched, you thought it would bring customers scrambling for your business/products/service. But it didn't and fairly quickly you turned your back on it, and kept doing what you know is effective: mailers, trade shows, promotional products, networking, cold calling. You've been doing it for years, you know how to do it and you know that it works. - [Seeing Unusual Referral Traffic in Your Google Analytics?](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/seeing-unusual-referral-traffic-in-your-google-analytics/): We've often seen some unusual referrers coming through on Google Analytics over the years. If you want to have a look at your own, head to the Acquisitions tab on the left side, click on All Traffic then Referrals. - [Onward to 2015](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/onward-2015/): We've been a little on the quiet side this past year, at least online. Usually we'll muster a blog post a month plus a smattering of social activity but aside from the random share, definitely quiet. I have a feeling we'll change that in 2015 but it wasn't for any particular reason. We understand the challenges of maintaining activity online as well as aligning priorities toward both client activities and internal tools. Also interesting to note that the lack of activity didn't necessarily impact our own online performance with traffic and conversions up over the previous year. Obviously this means that we could have performed a lot better but, it also points to the importance of a good, solid foundation. I am by no means denying the benefits of content marketing or social media marketing but this may offer a little perspective. - [A Digital Marketing Issue: Cheap SEO Services](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/digital-marketing-issue-cheap-seo-services/): Since SEO has been around, especially in its early days, there was a large gap in understanding. It's closed up a lot but certainly still exists. It was not uncommon to hear about someone offering to "SEO optimize your website" for a very small fee. I was often intrigued as to how these people or companies could afford to offer their services for such low rates until I had a the luxury of overseeing a campaign on behalf of a client that I came to learn that they really couldn't offer their services for such a low rate. The work was wrong and bad. Fortunately all that would happen is that the client would be out of pocket $199 a month. - [Turning Your Projects into Content](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/turning-your-projects-into-content/): It's 2013 and all bets are off when it comes to SEO tweaks and tricks. With a new year comes new strategies, and at the moment it's all about producing high quality content. I'm talking about that head turning, juicy, delicious content you can't help but sink your teeth into. The type of content even your competitors would link to. Content that's guaranteed to get tons of comments and hundreds of shares on social media. At the same time, you have to produce a lot of it, and do it fast. - [SEO Sustainability](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/seo-sustainability/): As a long-term strategy, SEO is a good one. You shouldn't necessarily be expecting that your SEO campaign is going to be an overnight hit (sometimes happens but rare) but you should also expect that the actions you do throughout your campaign, should last a long time and continue to grow. We've always appropriately pushed the need to "do it right" when it came to SEO and as a result, our client websites have not been penalized. - [A Methodology for Internet Marketing](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/a-methodology-for-internet-marketing/): The "SEO Business" is tougher and more complex making it difficult to build successful campaigns. These days, it's more like making a seven tiered wedding cake than a batch of Betty Crocker brownies. - [Our SEO Paradigm Shift for 2013](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/our-seo-for-2013/): We made some fairly significant changes in 2012 to accommodate Google. These sort of changes are not really uncommon in our field and interestingly for most of us, none of them were a real surprise but what has occurred this past year, does represent a shift in thinking for many in our industry. A big part of it has been a lack of understanding on many SEO's part. Using unsustainable practices is just that, unsustainable. They have been able to get away with it for a while now, some figuring the risks were worth it, others just blissfully ignorant that they would be penalized. Many did indeed get penalized and we heard a lot of grumbling about it. Sometimes Google gets it wrong and penalizes the good guys. Sometimes they will make an adjustment that targets an activity that was once acceptable (like sitewide linking) but fortunately none of our websites saw any significant hits and validated our strategy which has been less about the tricks and more about simply trying to make things right or what we like to refer to as a "healthy web ecosystem". This one sets you up for strong long-term Internet Marketing performance. - [Happy Holidays, 2012 Style](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/happy-holidays-2012-style/): Happy Holidays from the team at Dinkum Interactive. Have a happy and safe time of it. Hope to catch up with you in the New Year. - [Looking Back at Your Data to Look Forward](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/looking-back-at-your-data-to-look-forward/): We do it for our clients and regularly encourage them to look at their data always and often. Reading analytics tells a story about your business online and possibly a little about your business in general so it makes great sense to spend a bit of time with it. Of course we don't do it as often as we should for ourselves but it's about this time that I like to have a good look back at our data to see how the year played out online for us. - [Google Zeitgeist](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/google-zeitgeist/): After reviewing Yahoo's top searches two week ago, let's take a look at the results for the world's most popular search engine, Google. Last week, it released Google Zeitgeist, examining the spirit of the times through popular search terms. - [Gamification – Make It Fun](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/gamification-make-it-fun/): You might have noticed more companies are trying to engage you by playing a game. - [Top Searches for 2012](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/top-searches-for-2012/): It's December already - and yes, it's crazy how fast the year has gone by. A fun thing to do at this time of the year is to look at the most popular searches on the web. And we can thank Yahoo for once again collating the data. It's the 11th year Yahoo has been crunching the numbers and this year, they've created 50 Top 10 Lists on a range of interesting categories. I'd like to draw your attention to a few of them. - [Savings Prize – a key to behavior change](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/savings-prize-a-key-to-behavior-change/): We're all in the business of influencing other people. Whether it's getting your children to eat their vegetables, or encouraging someone to buy your product, every day we're trying to get people to do what we want. - [Going Viral: Gangnam Style](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/going-viral-gangnam-style/): You know you've made it when MC Hammer wants to share the stage with you at the American Music Awards. And share he did with Korean YouTube sensation, PSY - they went Gangnam-style in front of an appreciative audience. - [Be More Productive: Work on Happiness](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/be-more-productive-work-on-happiness/): When thinking about the bottom line, we generally look at process. But this week, here's a different approach: work on happiness. "Achieving happiness requires nothing more than practicing a few simple disciplines each and every day," believes Dr Tim Sharp. And he should know - he's from the Happiness Institute. - [Tips for Going Global with PPC](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/tips-to-going-global-with-ppc/): Search Engine Optimization (SEO) should play an important part in your website's local and international search campaigns, but it can take time to see results. By using Bing and Google's PPC programs, companies can build brand awareness abroad and reach foreign customers more quickly. Here are a few tips to build your international profile. - [Juggling Your Way to Success](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/juggling-your-way-to-success/): Today, I attended a conference called 'Mind and Its Potential' which gathers leading researchers in brain science and cognition from eastern and western traditions. It was a fascinating day. I listened to V.S. Ramachandran, Professor with the Psychology Department and Neurosciences Program at the University of California, San Diego, discuss mirror neurons and Buddhist nun, Venerable Yeshe Khadro, talk about attitudes to death and dying. There was an Olympic Gold medal winning volley-baller talking about how self-belief is the core of success with elite athletes (along with loads of training). And a young man talked about his determination to recover after an horrific car accident. - [The Bar is Getting Higher, Faster](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/the-bar-is-getting-higher-faster/): If you're in the internet marketing space, you'll instantly know what I mean: the game is getting harder. We've gone from the days of adding the right keywords to the top of your page to a landscape where you have to DO something to capture the interest of your audience. This is no small task, especially when everyone I know has 4 devices on their desk and 12 open tabs on their browser. - [WordPress Queries Solutions](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/wordpress-queries-solutions/): When managing large WordPress websites that contain thousands of posts, pages, categories, comments, and hundreds of authors, there are times when you need to make extensive changes. For instance, you might need to convert all the posts under a certain category into pages, or remove all the comments marked as spam. Rather than spend hours, you can run a few database queries. - [5 Reasons to do Weekly Website Reports](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/5-reasons-to-do-weekly-website-reports/): Maintaining a top performing website takes organization, especially if many people are involved. At Dinkum, we complete weekly reports of client websites to make sure we're on top of, and delivering, optimum sites. Everyone can see where a site is at, and how to make it better. I'm in charge of compiling these weekly reports and believe they're a great tool to improve websites. - [Reviews: are you swayed?](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/reviews-are-you-swayed/): Imagine you're planning a holiday. You've picked the destination and booked the flight, but haven't decided on the accommodation. How do you work out where to stay? You might ask friends or go for the well-known options. But most likely, you'll head online to see what others say. And it's likely you'll be swayed by comments from people who have visited your destination and shared their experience. But can you trust these recommendations? - [Keeping Our Eye on Google](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/keeping-our-eye-on-google/): Nobody's perfect and no service is perfect, especially in the tech world where new services and offerings are a regular occurrence. Some launches are downright awful - others are groundbreaking. And even the groundbreaking ones were once a work in progress. It's not uncommon for an Apple product launch to be riddled with issues including battery problems (exploding ones), buggy software, AT&T, The Newton and even the latest Apple maps fiasco. But the company pulls through relatively unscathed. - [Pay Per Click: how to get the best bang for your buck](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/pay-per-click-how-to-get-the-best-bang-for-your-buck/): Pay Per Click advertising can be a great way to drive traffic to your site but in the wrong hands, it can burn money. If you bid on the wrong keywords or focus on the wrong audience, you can end up spending a fortune without any measurable return. If you want to dip into the PPC landscape yourself, or work out if a PPC provider knows what they're doing, consider these five essential stages of the process. - [Agile Marketing, And What It Means for Real People with Feelings](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/agile-marketing-and-what-it-means-for-real-people-with-feelings/): It's generally not a smart idea to begin a company blogpost with a political opinion quote, but today I'm throwing caution to the wind to make this point: perfection ain't all that it's made up to be. - [Snap Judgments: Are you overlooking introverts?](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/snap-judgments-are-you-overlooking-introverts/): Are you aware of how you make decisions? From what to wear today to who to marry, we believe we make decisions rationally. We weigh up the options and come to a conclusion. Of course, it's more complicated than that. I'm currently reading Malcolm Gladwell's book 'Blink' about the part of our brain that makes snap decisions using intuition and feelings wrapped up in rationality. Sometimes it's spot on, other times not. - [You’ve Got 4 Seconds: How to Hook Web Visitors](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/the-importance-of-above-the-fold/): It's a cold, hard fact: people spend about 4 seconds looking at your website before deciding whether to stay or leave. So how can you hook visitors in that 4 seconds? - [Got a Mobile Site? Better Get One Pronto](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/got-a-mobile-site-better-get-one-pronto/): No doubt you're aware of the revolution taking place between you and your smartphone. To reinforce how pervasive and all-consuming these devices have become, check out these figures from Time magazine's poll on mobile use across the globe. - [Going for Gold: Achieving Top Search Rankings](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/gold-keyword-selection-achieving-top-search-rankings/): I've been watching the Olympics as much as I can. Even with the disappointing TV coverage, it's hard not to get sucked into the excitement. The talent and obvious hard work of the athletes is impressive and inspirational. One thing that's struck me during these games is the obsession with getting gold. Silver has brought many to tears and a bronze medal - well, it's as though they shouldn't have shown up. For me, just making it to the Olympics is a massive achievement. So, how does this relate to Internet marketing? - [How understanding the herd mentality can improve your business](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/do-you-understand-the-herd-mentality/): If you're keen to influence people around you -- from encouraging them to buy your products or services to increasing recycling in your community -- research I heard during a 'Freakonomics' podcast will be of interest. - [Understanding Internet Marketing Using the Muppet Theory](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/understanding-internet-marketing-with-the-muppet-theory/): Kermit, Miss Piggy, the Great Gonzo -- the Muppets are more than colorful characters on our screens. They offer helpful insights into how to get the most from Internet marketing. Let me explain. - [The Overload Called Marketing](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/the-overload-called-marketing/): Much has been written about how marketing has changed over the past 15 years because the tools have changed. My question - has marketing really changed? - [Can you do me a favor?](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/can-you-do-me-a-favor/): What's the best way to get someone to like you? Most people assume it's by doing someone a favor. But it turns out the opposite is true. The best way to get someone to like you is by asking them to do you a favor. Sounds crazy, right? The phenomenon has been labelled the Benjamin Franklin Effect after the American founding father and it's an increasingly important tool in marketing. - [6 Ways to Kickstart Your Writing](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/6-ways-to-kickstart-your-writing/): If you're online, then you need to write snappy, engaging, interesting copy. It's an important part of the business. For many people, facing a blank screen is confronting, even excruciating. If this is you - relax. These six strategies will help get your writing juices flowing. - [How to Make Your Internet Marketing “Autocatalytic”](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/how-to-make-your-internet-marketing-autocatalytic/): At Dinkum Interactive, we perform a large number of tasks requiring expertise in SEO, PPC, Web Design, Email Marketing, and others. This is a valuable set of skills for our clients but it's not the reason they hire us. Our goal with each client is to support the development of a sophisticated internet marketing culture at their company/organization. That is our true purpose and value. - [Our Favorite Search Marketing Google Analytics Custom Report](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/search-marketing-custom-report/): Analytics has always been an important part of what we do. It's the foundation of our campaigns whether for an SEO strategy, PPC or website redesign project. Analytics tell us a lot about what we do, who our client really is (sometimes more than our client does), helps us plan, helps us adjust and ultimately guides us. It can do a lot or it can do a little depending on how you use it. - [Pay-Per-Click: is it for you?](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/pay-per-click-is-it-for-you/): It's the dream of most websites - volumes of traffic seeking your product or service. At Dinkum, we use a variety of techniques to drive visitors in your direction and one of the tools we're getting some great results with is Google Adwords and other Pay-Per-Click (PPC) strategies. This is why:- ## Pages - [Accessibility](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/accessibility/): Dinkum Interactive has made and will continue to make an effort to accommodate individuals with disabilities on our website. We've got clients that have been with us since we opened for business back in 2006. It demonstrates the Dinkum difference. - [Tools We Use and Love](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/about/tools-we-use-and-love/): WordPress - WordPress is "web software you can use to create a beautiful website or blog." We think of it as a powerhouse platform for creativity in Internet marketing. With WordPress, we're able to innovate on a stable and consistently evolving platform. Sure, Drupal7 is awesome and Expression Engine is the right fit for some clients (we've used them all, and built some of our own as well). We choose WordPress for clients and ourselves about 90% of the time. We really do enjoy our time with WordPress - while we've deployed just about everything out there, this is our favorite CMS.Basecamp - Like most creative agencies, we bounced around from one Project Management System to another. We tried some great ones, including the beautifully constructed Apollo HQ, but in the end, nothing has worked better at bringing our team onto the same page as Basecamp. The new edition looks good enough that our team actually wants to use it, and that makes all the difference. Task lists, calendars, and the freedom of unlimited projects suits us well - now we're just excited to get all of those Basecamp Classic integrations to be updated to work with the new version. For more information, visit www.basecamp.comInternap - Internap knows that no two hosting deployments are the same. It provides a variety of hosting solutions, infrastructure services and delivery products to meet the demands of today's web-centric businesses. Internap's Agile Hosting line is Dinkum's preferred hosting provider. But don't take our word for it: YouSendIt, PerezHilton.com, FastCompany, and the Mozilla Foundation like them too. Oh, and did we mention MIRO Managed Internet Route Optimizer™? With a strong foundation in the form of a powerful and effective website, their keyword strategy well in place and providing great visibility and client referrals, there's always more to do including some Paid Search, Lead Generation Management, Split Testing, their future looks bright. - [Zamorano University](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/casestudies/zamorano-university/): As one of the world's leading agricultural colleges, this Honduran college certainly did not reflect this value online. Visually, it desperately needed an upgrade. Online visibility was also lacking and a concerted push needed to be made in this area to help improve its performance. This included visibility throughout the North and South American regions, especially through Google. - [B2B SEO Campaign](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/casestudies/b2b-seo-campaign/): A National B2B company was seeing a moderate amount of traffic to their website but had very little search visibility and engaged with Dinkum to do something about it.  Competitors were doing a much better job at appearing on search results so they wanted to ensure that they were playing in the same pond. - [Voxel Partner Video](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/casestudies/client-partner-video/): In the first of what should be a series of partner videos for top web hosting company Voxel, the legends of Time Tracking, Harvest jumped at the opportunity to give props to their mates who were providing a premium service and sensational support. - [Raab Collection: Steering the Right Course](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/casestudies/raab-collection-steering-right-course/): Want to own letter signed by Abraham Lincoln? But we both want the same thing: to get in front of the right people. - [Chalking up SEO Success with Eastern University](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/casestudies/chalking-seo-success-eastern-university/): Graduation Day - [Hoffman Services: Heavy Lifting Drives Results](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/casestudies/hoffman-services-heavy-lifting-drives-results/): Matthew's site design came together throughout December and the development team began integrating hand coded xhtml + css into WordPress, our preferred CMS. Other standard SEO techniques such as meta data development and site architecture also took place. At this point, it became apparent that significant content work was needed to really distinguish the site from its competitors. To incorporate this adjustment, the launch date was pushed back in order for product descriptions, case studies, and press releases to be created. - [Center for Study Abroad](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/casestudies/center-study-abroad/): With a new website launched and continued content management, we set about targeting their search traffic. While we saw a fairly quick bump in traffic initially, it was the sustained growth that really had the greatest impact. In addition to including an option for accepting credit cards online, we set up goals to track applications and payments to help determine the overall impact of our work. Once again, we've seen steady growth in this area and it provides useful data that we can tap into on an ongoing basis. - [Paskill, Stapleton & Lord](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/casestudies/paskill-stapleton-lord/): Paskill, Stapleton & Lord contracted with Dinkum in November, 2009 to increase their visibility on the web. - [Advanced Scientific](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/casestudies/advanced-scientific/): Initially, Advanced Scientifics had under 1000 visitors per month in to their website in late 2008, and had limited ranking for 9 relevant keywords, none on page 1. Since then, traffic to the website has doubled, their page rank went from 3 to 4 and the Alexa Rank improved from 6,092,198 to 3,309,688. - [Sales Packaging](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/casestudies/sales-packaging/): Dinkum Solution: ## Works - [Hoffman Services Inc](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/hoffman-services-inc/): New Jersey Heavy Duty Lift company Hoffman Services Inc. is a long time Dinkum partner. With strong online visibility and performance through the years, Hoffman has seen reliable lead inquiries. Eventually though, as the web evolves, it was time for another website design upgrade so we set about updating it visually and took advantage of new development options as well as SEO and other digital marketing opportunities, to reset the foundation. - [Ms. Foundation for Women](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/ms-foundation-for-women/): The Ms. Foundation for Women invests in grassroots, tribal, state and national organizations that focus across Economic Justice, Safety and Women's Health. A bold organization that needed a bold look! Our website build looked to highlight their history as well as all their initiatives. The latest website brought their web standards up to current requirements with a close eye on accessibility and compliance. - [Mem Global](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/mem-global/): The Mem Global initiative looked to combine several of their brands into one. Obviously this added a level of complexity but also allowed for some efficiency in managing their products. By combining several services, this project turned fairly large, fairly quickly. Our aim was to effectively support their goal of building communities globally this website brought together camps, housing, events and other programs under the one roof with a singular focus. - [Jewish Family Services LA](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/jewish-family-services-la/): JFSLA provides life-improving services that help the people of Los Angeles. We sought to build a website that helped to represent them locally and globally. From highlighting the work they do to helping present updated news and insights as well as multimedia integration this is a website to be proud of. - [Research Partnership for Professional Learning](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/research-partnership-for-professional-learning/): This website was truly an extended team effort. Along with several key partners, we were given the dev responsibility and were able to upgrade their Wordpress website to give users a much better experience overall. Additionally, we created an interactive map that highlighted stats for their constituents, created through mapbox and custom code. - [Encoded Ventures](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/encoded-ventures/): In 2024 Alex decided to take the leap and start his own company Encoded Ventures, a seed stage venture fund with an eye on modern infrastructure software. While relationships are a big part of his business, a website can provide strong support for communicating your message and that was next on his list. We designed a simple one-pager with a clean look and a heavy tech style. The design was built in Wordpress and encoded.vc was born. - [Six Strings Down Guitar Repairs](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/six-strings-down-guitar-repairs/): It's one thing to be able to fix any type of guitar, it's another thing to figure out how to have a web presence to help let people know that you exist. Six Strings Guitar Repairs is based in Delray Florida and seems to be the best kept secret around...until now. Dinkum helped to acquire a domain name, setup hosting account, email addresses and built a Wordpress website that help to communicate the kind of services Six Strings offers but also to show some visual examples of work they had done. - [814 Third](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/814-third/): Downtown Las Vegas is starting to really gain traction as a destination in itself. From Fremont St to the Arts District, there are so many more options recently. One of those option is the newest Speakeasy within the District North building. This venue is perfect for special events which, combined with a small but select drink and food menu is a great option for those in downtown Las Vegas. - [Mannella Consulting](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/mannella-consulting/): Teacher and Coach Marc Mannella made the big leap from educator to leadership consultant and needed some online presence to communicate his message and validate his new business. Built on the Wordpress CMS with email integration, Marc is now able to point prospects to his online presence to help convey his approach to leadership, training and coaching. - [Summer Discovery](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/summer-discovery/): We love a program that dishes out grants to kids and that's exactly what Summer Discovery does as it looks to support summer enrichment programs throughout the south-east Michigan area. They believe that ALL kids in Michigan deserve opportunities to succeed in school and dream big about their futures. It just so happens that we do too! - [Marlboro Music Festival](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/marlboro-music-festival/): Every summer, some of the finest musicians in the world gather at Marlboro, Vermont to share and learn. They then perform weekend concerts from mid-July to mid-August to chamber music enthusiasts. The good folks at Marlboro Music have partnered up with Dinkum in a long term engagement that includes websites, archives, digital marketing, analytics and even a ticketing platform. For those with interest and a little time this summer, check out their website to see if there's something that grabs your fancy. - [On the Square Real Estate](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/on-the-square-real-estate/): On the Square Real Estate got a makeover - [Humans of the Internet](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/humans-of-the-internet/): The Smith brothers launched their Venture Capital company Humans of the Internet and sought a brand new website to represent their latest adventure. We had the design and set about carving up to implement on Wordpress but chose a little something this time by creating a headless WP instance given their proclivity for forward-thinking technology solutions. It's fast, secure and flexible. It looks good and does a great job at showing off their portfolio. - [Philadelphia Chamber Music Society](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/philadelphia-chamber-music-society/): Longtime client PCMS has enjoyed a strong online performance through the years. - [The Merchants Fund](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/merchants-fund/): The Merchants Fund is a Philadelphia organization that provides financial support to businesses in need. They have been around since 1854 and their previous website since 2015 which, in 2024 was struggling to meet their needs. The website was already in Wordpress and maintained by Dinkum so it was doing OK but times change fast online and an upgrade was due. - [District North Downtown Las Vegas](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/district-north-downtown-las-vegas/): Under new ownership, the building that was Art Houz was looking for a rebrand. They wanted something that made sense and separated the building from the theaters to be able to communicate the message of each to their audience. The theaters became Downtown Cinemas, a nod to the location. We created a logo that aligned with the downtown Las Vegas vibe and history. - [Youth Performance Institute](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/youth-performance-institute/): It's never great when you want to share a website but you're a bit embarrassed by it because it doesn't really look like you want or more importantly, do what you want. The Youth Performance Institute caters to young people so incorporating some bright colors and of course some social media presence was key. We added a video section with filters, an instagram feed, photo galleries, all in an easy to use layout. - [Summer Boost](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/summer-boost/): We love a good funding opportunity for educators so it was a treat to work on the Summer Boost website. The original website launched in 2022 and has run each summer since then, expanding from one city (NYC) to seven in 2024. - [Innovorg](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/innovorg/): Looking to ramp up their online visibility, Innovorg needed to improve their website build to really set a solid digital foundation. Dinkum provided a refreshed design but more importantly a technical framework that would better serve their needs for growth and scale. In addition to a new build, we also looked at other key SEO areas like keyword strategy, planning and integration and look forward to seeing a strong positive trajectory in the coming months. As the Innovorg technical skills training platform remains their main focus, having a stronger online presence will compliment their other marketing efforts both online and offline. - [Zion Lutheran Church](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/zion-lutheran-church/): Located in San Antonio Texas, Zion Lutheran Church was struggling with an outdated an aging website to help with their messaging to an ever-expanding congregation. Add to that, complexities of managing events and calendars, live streams and galleries had them struggling. - [UUH Outreach](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/uuh-outreach/): UUH Outreach has provided free, confidential support to older adults living in Northwest Philadelphia since 1999. Their website was aging itself and required its own support. Our services recognize that small nonprofits like UUH have many challenges including budget constraints and given our own backgrounds in social services and education, we've established a streamlined approach to keep costs down. - [Children’s Scholarship Fund NH](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/childrens-scholarship-fund-nh/): The Children's Scholarship Fund New Hampshire had a Wordpress website that was aging poorly, to the point where they were unable to make updates due to admin conflicts. An upgrade was severely overdue so that's exactly what Dinkum did. An updated design and a reworked admin and they are back in action! - [Heckscher + EarlyBird](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/heckscher-earlybird/): Literacy should be a high priority in all our schools and the earlier, the better. Many of our staff were teachers and a lot of our clients are educators so e have a soft spot for the needs of children. EarlyBird is a program that has been developed to combat reading difficulties for pre-readers and early readers from Pre-K to 1st grade. The Heckscher Foundation for Children chose to provide some schools free use of the platform for up to 2 years as part of their support for underserved youth initiatives. We were excited to help them deliver this initiative through a small website aimed at informing and communicating their message and encouraging as many charter schools in NYC to apply. - [Council of Historically Black Grad Schools](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/council-of-historically-black-grad-schools/): The Council of Historically Black Grad Schools has been a reliable partner of Dinkum for several years now. We took on management of their 2008-built HTML website but after a while it became evident that this was not the best experience for us, the client or the users. So recently we decided to blow it up and start from scratch with a full redesign and Wordpress dev implementation. Their experience has been elevated since the addition of the new website and it has made our own lives much easier. - [Breaking Barriers](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/breaking-barriers/): Breaking Barriers is a campaign built for the Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia in order to help more students in Philadelphia gain scholarships to quality education that they would not usually get access to by way of donations. This microsite was setup to support an online ad campaign. - [GrantVantage](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/grantvantage/): GrantVantage focuses on providing a grant management software tool for non profits and government agencies. While their focus was narrow, it's important to offer clarity in their message, align their brand and be nimble to make sure that prospects looking for a product like theirs, would fit the needs of their customers. - [Capital Region Classical](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/capital-region-classical/): Capital Region Classical leverages the MuseCRM system for patron and ticketing management. - [Summer Boost](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/summer-boost-nyc/): Summer Boost NYC was a new initiative that required swift turnaround. - [Art Houz](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/art-houz/): Art Houz is a facility located in downtown Las Vegas, recently renovated and rebranded to highlight all of their offerings including the restaurant, bar, movie theaters and venue options for rentals including weddings, conferences, corporate retreats and the like. Their website was a simple offering with basic information and images and did not perform well online, a key component to showcasing a new property. - [Tern](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/tern/): At Dinkum we like to practice what we preach and while a key element to our services is regular attention and iteration to website management, we also like to think that we are flexible and nimble and able to shift with our client needs. Tern is a player in Fintech which in an industry in flux and they like to keep on top of all the latest technologies available and plan their business around that. With their latest rebrand came the need for a new website that represented their updated look and messaging. - [Potash Hill](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/potash-hill/): The good folks from Marlboro Music saw an opportunity for expansion around their campus when the property on Potash Hill became available in 2021. To manage and oversee the property, Marlboro Music formed a subsidiary nonprofit organization, Potash Hill, Inc. to ensure that the property will be preserved and maintained for Marlboro Music’s intensive study program and festival season each summer. - [Pride Garden Products](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/pride-garden-products/): UPDATE: 2021 saw a shift in business practices to focus on supporting their retail clientele only. Pride decided to take advantage of that to also update and refine their website and remove the ecommerce capabilities. The result was an updated look that highlights their products and drives users to their catalog which offers a look at their full inventory. - [TransferMex](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/transfermex/): In conjunction with our partners at Tern, we built the TransferMex website as part of their global while labeling platform setup. The objective was simply to give a viable online presence via a single page website that showed off the services and offerings for folks wanting to move funds to Mexico clearly and easily. - [Alan Tye & Associates](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/alan-tye-associates/): Since 1996, Alan Tye & Associates has been providing heavy duty lift and support services throughout the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. As one of the largest heavy duty provider, their small website on Wix didn't really reflect their organization nor did it attract prospects. They needed an upgrade and they needed it to perform better on both fronts. - [Emerald Windows](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/emerald-windows/): With an outdated website that didn't represent the professional services company, Emerald Windows approached us with a desire for a full overhaul. - [Open19](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/open19/): Open19 began as a way to standardize data centers for servers, storage, and networking that can fit in any 19” data center rack environment. In doing so, they suggest it's a community-based way to solve cost, efficiency and operational challenges of datacenter deployments. The service aimed at competing against some big name who were trying to do the same but at a much higher cost to users. Our goal was to enhance their brand and have their website aligned with their message and their desire to be part of the Linux Foundation. Following the site launch, they announced their partnership with the Linux Foundation which shifted some of our overall goals quickly but we were prepared to make those adjustments. - [US Unlocked](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/usunlocked/): With a new dashboard and system design, aligning the US Unlocked brand was increasingly important to the folks at Tern who run US Unlocked. The website itself performs well on Search Engines so we were essentially aiming at minimal impact from a design refresh. With a slightly revamped site structure, we were essentially able to keep most elements of the old website so when switching over, we would be able to retain most of the Search performance and then to look for additional opportunity to improve it even further. - [SRUTI](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/sruti/): The India Music & Dance Society (SRUTI) is a volunteer run organization serving the Greater Philadelphia area to promote and present Indian classical music and dance. Their web presence was extremely dated and caused frustrations in updating and maintaining. The performances were managed with a combination of Access database and Google Sheets and were largely not functional on their current web instance. - [Ants Pants Cafe](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/ants-pants/): Despite being 2020 and in the midst of a pandemic. And despite being limited to takeout and delivery, the cafe has remained opened so we decided the good folks at Ants Pants Cafe could use a site refresher. The previous website version was a good 8 years old and times had changed so as always, we like to be proactive and made sure they change with it. - [New Bank Rail](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/new-bank-rail/): A new player to the financial game, New Bank Rail is looking to take advantage of modern financial techniques by introducing new processes to old systems. Their web presence also needed to balance that fine line of accommodating old industry players into a new and fresh setup. Our design looked to blend traditional colors with a spacious and modern layout. The system is setup on the Wordpress CMS. Check out their website at www.newbankrail.com. - [Packet](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/packet/): New to the cloud infrastructure and bare metal game, Packet wanted to enter with a bang and quickly make their mark online. While in their early stages, we got to work on designing and building their website and getting some swift visibility online with a fairly aggressive SEO campaign. - [MassPayout](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/masspayout/): MassPayout is a new service offering from the folks at Tern Commerce. For this project we borrowed a few elements from the Tern website to maintain an element of brand consistency but we also wanted to give MassPayout its own look and feel. The longscroll homepage allowed them to include a lot of information about their product and services. - [Tern Commerce](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/tern-commerce/): Tern Commerce continues to push the envelope for global fintech companies. While financial service innovation tends to move slowly, Tern offers the ability to easily upgrade their service offerings to customers to give them the tools they need in todays market. - [Philadelphia Cultural Fund](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/philadelphia-cultural-fund/): It's no secret that we're massive supporters of the Arts as well as non-profits. They make up a large part of our core business. Being able to maximize efficiencies that we pick up from working at scale on a lot of websites, really helps to keep overall costs down while still maximizing impact. For this reason, every year we offer up a pro bono website refresh to a client that really needs it but doesn't quite have the budget to make it happen. We selected Philadelphia Cultural Fund for our 2018 recipient of the Unsung Hero project. - [On The Square Real Estate](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/mary-square/): Luxury is the name of the game for the mother-daughter partners who sell beautiful homes river to river in Center City, Philadelphia. They wanted new site that reflects the beauty and value of the homes they represent, as well as showcases the services they provide as a boutique residential sales team. We redesigned the site, bringing in the "Wow" factor and keeping a clean, luxurious feel, much like the homes they sell. A mobile responsive site is important, too, so visitors on the move can view listings and more. Moving forward, we will continue to manage the site, keeping it updated, speedy and attractive to visitors looking for upscale housing in the City of Brotherly Love. - [AJC Battery](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/ajc-battery/): Leading replacement Battery Manufacturer, AJC® Battery needed an upgrade for their outdated and underperforming website. Updating the visuals was only part of their needs. Being able to integrate their products with their e-commerce store was valued as was the need to increase overall visibility and sales. - [Foreign Policy Research Institute](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/foreign-policy-research-institue/): Foreign policy think tank Foreign Policy Research Institute (FPRI) aims to "educate the public, teach teachers, train students, and offer ideas to advance U.S. national interests based on a nonpartisan, geopolitical perspective that illuminates contemporary international affairs through the lens of history, geography, and culture." To do so, they lean heavily on their website to help reflect their mission and to communicate their message. It hasn't always been an easy path with a couple of missteps along the way. One of those was a challenging website upgrade that didn't quite go according to plan. When Dinkum was brought in, while the website was completed and functional, it did not do many things they needed and really didn't reflect a modern, current experience that was important to FPRI's goals. - [Noc Noc](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/noc-noc/): New York startup NocNoc looks to take a more flexible approach to remote datacenter support after being on the end of some hefty costs and frustrations with staff and company bloat. By improving efficiencies across the board and tapping into a network of experts around the globe, NocNoc has been able to provide improved services at several locations. - [Rogers, Joseph, O’Donnell](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/rogers-joseph-odonnell/): Law Firm Rogers, Joseph, O'Donnell was sitting on a fairly dated website and had identified an increased need for a mobile-friendly which in 2017 was a must-have. We agreed. They also identified a need to update and manage the content themselves. Naturally, Wordpress was chosen as the CMS not only for its popularity but also its familiarity as more as more people are comfortable with its features and the barrier to entry is much easier. Additionally, the website design we created was responsive and really provided a seamless mobile experience. - [Historic Golf Photos](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/work/historic-golf-photos/): Historic Golf Photos was using an outdated custom e-commerce CMS that was showing its age and having more than a few issues. Updating the website became nearly impossible so an update was pretty necessary. ## Our Tools - [Muse](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/tool/muse/): Online ticketing and customer management tools have been slow to evolve, many still relying on outdated database systems and methodologies. Our goal in developing Muse was to change this by creating a SaaS-based system that's highly customizable, interactive, functional and user friendly for both staff and customers. - [Copilot](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/tool/copilot/): Having access to digital data that is used to move online performance forward is a key piece to ensuring you are keeping a close eye on the most important information for your business. - [SiteMavens](https://www.dinkuminteractive.com/tool/sitemavens/): We've been making Wordpress plugins for several years now, usually as a result of filling gaps for clients.
